The ash trees at Morris-Erickson have unfortunately fell victim to the Emerald Ash Borer. These trees will be removed upon the advice from the County Forester, who has stated Emerald Ash Borer has a mortality rate of 99.9% once the tree shows signs of stress. This only affects the Ash. The Pines, Maples, and Oaks are doing well and will not be removed. Removal has started as of February of 2026. We appreciate everyone's concern and patience during this time.

Morris-Erickson County Park is named after two of our founding Chippewa County Board members. Arnt Erickson and John Morris were integral in our Town, County, and State governments in the early 1900’s and were passionate about outdoor recreation. Is it because of their service that the County is able to offer many of the outdoor opportunities provided to the public today.
